Robin Back, MSW, RSW
Registered Social Worker
Hi, I’m Robin. I’m a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist. I work with adults who are struggling with anxiety, chronic stress, overwhelm, or the effects of trauma.
You might be dealing with panic attacks, OCD, health anxiety, social anxiety, or phobias.
Or maybe it feels harder to pinpoint exactly what’s going on, but you know something feels off. You might feel stuck in your head, overthinking everything, imagining worst-case scenarios, and second-guessing yourself constantly.
Your body might feel like it’s always “on”. Like you can’t fully slow down, relax, or let yourself settle, even when you’re exhausted. Maybe you get waves of dread, feel irritable for no obvious reason, or become overwhelmed by the physical sensations of anxiety. And then, before you know it, you’re not just anxious, you’re anxious about being anxious.
Maybe anxiety shows up most in your relationships. You replay conversations, worry you said the wrong thing, avoid conflict, or feel responsible for making sure everyone else is okay.
Or maybe the hardest part is that you feel disconnected from yourself. Like underneath all the fear, overthinking, and trying to keep yourself safe, you’re not even sure who you are anymore.
Whatever brings you here, we’ll work together to help you get unstuck. We’ll talk about what you’re experiencing, how anxiety is showing up in your life, and the patterns you feel caught in. We’ll make space for insight and understanding, because those things matter.
But we’ll also go beyond thinking and talking. For many people, anxiety runs deeper in the body and is connected to a nervous system that has learned to stay on high alert, brace for what could go wrong, or respond as though you are in danger, even when you are safe. While insight can help you understand anxiety, it often takes more than insight alone to shift it.
That’s why my approach is also somatic, meaning body-based. We’ll work with what is happening in your body and nervous system, and build practical tools you can use in real life to help your nervous system feel calmer, safer and more regulated. Over time, the goal is to help you feel more like yourself, less controlled by fear, and more able to move through your life with steadiness, choice, and freedom.
This work is not one-size-fits-all. Your anxiety, history, nervous system, and goals are unique, so I tailor therapy to your needs and pace. I also believe the relationship we build matters. My hope is that therapy feels like a space where you can show up honestly, feel understood, and work together in a way that feels supportive, useful, and aligned with what you need.
To support this work, I draw from evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches, including Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
I completed my Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto, where my clinical training focused on health and mental health. I am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
If any of this resonates, I’d be happy to connect for a free consultation and explore whether working together feels like the right fit.
