Stefani Trovato, MPsy

Clinical Associate

My approach to therapy is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and authenticity. Above all, I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful and lasting change. My goal is to create a space where you feel truly heard, understood, and valued. I provide both individual and couples therapy.

I have a Master of Psychology Degree from Adler Graduate Professional School and am currently working toward becoming a Psychological Associate and registering with the College of Psychologists and Behavoiural Analysts of Ontario. My work is trauma-informed, client-centered, and anti-oppressive. My focus is on meeting you where you are and discovering what works best for you.

I work with adults, adolescents, and couples who are navigating a variety of life challenges. I support clients through a wide range of issues including:

· Feelings of depression, grief, or sadness

· Anxiety, panic, and worry

· The transition to pregnancy and parenthood

· Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders

· Relationship difficulties, including narcissistic abuse and family conflict

· Challenges with self-esteem, self-criticism, and body image

· Exploring gender identity and gender dysphoria

· Healing from trauma, PTSD, or painful childhood experiences

My approach to therapy is integrative, incorporating a number of therapeutic modalities including: Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I have a special interest in supporting individuals through the perinatal period. I have completed specialized training in perinatal mental health through the Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Training program.

No matter what brings you to therapy, I strive to provide a warm, inclusive, and affirming space where you can explore your experiences without judgment. I recognize the systemic barriers and oppressions that impact many individuals and am committed to helping you move toward empowerment and self-understanding. My practice is 2SLGBTQ+ affirming, and I welcome people from all cultures, identities, and backgrounds.
