Jane Keachie, MSW Intern
Counsellor/ Master's-level Intern
Hi! My name is Jane and I am a master’s-level social work student completing a clinical placement at Bloor West Therapy.
Prior to working in mental health, I worked at a community services agency in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, where I supported women in a work skills program. Since returning to Toronto, I have worked at a mental health clinic as an intake coordinator and office manager.
I hold a social work degree from York University and have experience providing counselling and support to adults in community settings. This includes working as a phone responder for a distress line and providing grief and bereavement counselling.
I work with adults and adolescents (14+). I can work with concerns such as anxiety, panic, depression, self-esteem issues, stress, trauma, family dynamics, relationship issues, ADHD, OCD, and grief.
I am supervised by Robin Back (MSW, RSW) and Dr. Ragne Pajo (Psy.D., C.Psych).
I will be utilizing Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as integrating other approaches such as Mindfulness.
I recognize that it can be very challenging to find the support you need. My intention is to build a therapeutic relationship in which together we can explore your concerns and goals and find ways to make meaningful changes in your life.
My work is client-centered, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed. I aim to create a safe and supportive environment for clients with a diverse range of life experiences and identities. My practice is 2SLGBTQ+ affirming.
I invite you to schedule a consultation with me where we can discuss your needs and how I can best support you.
