Jane Keachie, RSW, MSW
Clinical Associate
Hi! I have completed a Master of Social Work at U of T (with a specialization in mental health), a clinical placement/internship at Bloor West Therapy, and am registered with the OCSWSSW. I’m very pleased to continue my work here as a Clinical Associate, supervised by Dr. Ragne Pajo (Psy.D., C.Psych).
Alongside my clinical experience, I have also worked in community settings, working as a phone responder for a distress line, providing grief and bereavement counselling to individuals and groups, and supporting women in a work skills program in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
Here at Bloor West Therapy, I work with adults and adolescents (14+) on a variety of concerns, including anxiety, panic, depression, self-esteem issues, stress, trauma, family dynamics, relationship issues, ADHD, OCD, and grief.
I use an integrative approach, drawing mainly from Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and incorporating other approaches and tools as needed. I work in a collaborative manner, keeping an open line of communication regarding what works and what doesn’t, so that we can both gain more insight into what works best for you!
I want clients to get the most out of therapy, which is why I like to combine pragmatic, problem-solving with more exploratory work that allows us to look at how our sense of self and understanding of the world is impacted by early and/or difficult life experiences. I work with clients to increase their self-compassion and flexibility to meet life’s challenges. Together we can explore your concerns and goals and find ways to make meaningful changes.
Therapy can feel intimidating and I understand how hard it can be to take the first steps towards getting the support you need. If you are curious about working together, I welcome you to schedule a consultation with me so we can talk about your concerns and how I can best support you.
