Registered Clinical & Counselling Psychologist

Hello and welcome!

Providing a safe, non-judgmental space, I journey alongside clients and support them to explore, notice, process, and gain insight for healing and growth. I collaborate with clients to cultivate their unique strengths to develop or strengthen adaptive coping skills. I am mindful and curious about each client’s intersectionality of race/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, ability/disability, religion, and economic background to better understand and respect clients’ unique perspectives.

I have experience working with clients who struggle with diverse challenges, including:
· Complex Trauma/Symptoms of PTSD
· Low Self-Esteem/Self-Worth
· Emotion dysregulation
· Symptoms of Anxiety
· Symptoms of Depression
· Anger Issues
· Grief and Bereavement
· Stress Management

I hold an eclectic stance and incorporate components of different therapeutic modalities to individualize psychotherapy for each client, including:

· Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)
· Internal Family Systems (IFS)
· Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
· Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)

Education/Training
I completed my Master of Education in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Toronto. I am a Registered Psychologist in both Ontario and Alberta, Canada and have provided psychotherapy to adults within private practice settings since 2017. I completed additional clinical training, including Level 1 training in Internal Family Systems through the IFS Institute; ACT for Beginners through PsychWire; Basic EMDR Training, EMDRIA-approved; and Emotion-Focused Therapy Level One Certificate (EFT).

Personal Background
I am a second-generation Korean-Canadian, cisgender woman and spent my childhood in rural Alberta, Canada. Moving through life as a bicultural person has made me mindful of one’s belongingness to different groups and communities and how that might influence individuals’ experiences, worldviews, and self-view. I carry this awareness to inform my psychotherapy work. I believe being a psychologist is an honour and I strive to support my clients’ journey toward better mental health and overall well-being.
