Kayla Patchett, MSW

Registered Social Worker

Hi, I’m Kayla! I am an experienced therapist, a registered social worker and I love what I do. I have worked in diverse private and community settings for over a decade with people of all ages, backgrounds, and lived experiences. My gentle, curious, and compassionate approach can support you in connecting with yourself, others, and the world.

My approach is creative, trauma-informed, and deeply relational. I am very committed to your need for safety, belonging, and respect; all of which create the foundation for a strong and meaningful therapeutic relationship. I believe that healing happens in relationships and I am here to walk alongside you in your journey. I am dedicated to supporting folks in all the ups and downs and twists and turns of life including experiences of anxiety, trauma, relationships, self-esteem, family dynamics, grief & loss, and stress.

Because every one of us is unique, my approach is tailored to you, your strengths, and your goals. I offer a variety of therapeutic approaches and will bring my assessment skills, intuition, and, at times, sense of humour to our relationship in order to best guide and support you in this process.

I flexibly draw on and resonate with attachment-based, psychodynamic, trauma-responsive, and narrative approaches and also provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)-informed therapy. I received my Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto and am a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers as well as the Ontario Association of Social Workers.

Choosing a therapist is a personal and important decision. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to connect to ask questions or chat about if we’d be a good fit and how we can work together.
